Start Your Charter School
Why Start a Charter School?
A charter school can provide you an opportunity to fulfill a well thought out vision for creating an educational environment that improves student achievement. Charter schools are held to strict accountability for results, but yet allow freedom for educators and school founders to use curricula or programs to address the special needs of its children directly.
Developing a Charter School
Developing a school is a time intensive and demanding endeavor, and not one to be taken lightly. It is imperative that school developers understand the attributes of a quality school and build a strong foundation from the beginning. To assist you, the Association offers a variety of resources in the development of your charter school that emphasize our Quality Standards, from the exploration phase through the first year of implementation.
The Association recommends a two-year process for planning and implementing your charter school.
