9. Please share what your priorities will be as a state lawmaker to strengthen Arizona’s workforce and economy so that all Arizonans have better opportunities to move up the economic ladder? | As an accountant and volunteer tutor for second-graders, my legislative priorities include restoring fiscal responsibility to the state legislature so we can properly fund our schools so all students can receive a great education. This includes expanding early childhood learning opportunities, K-12 funding, after-the-bell programs, quality summer learning options, career training, and restoring state funding to our community colleges to help people gain the skills necessary to move up the economic ladder. Also, I will work to expand access to quality, afford healthcare, encourage innovation, support small businesses, and make smart infrastructure investments - all of which will help grow our economy and create good-paying jobs.

12. What are your ideas for tax reform that would improve our state's economy? | Using my decades of experience in business and finance, I will work to correct the myriad of unproductive tax exemptions that have been given to special interest groups recently. Also, I will change the STO administration fee allowance that is draining tens of millions of dollars from education spending. Plus, I will work to modify the state corporate income tax regulations to truly incentivize companies to invest in Arizona and support local small business innovation. All of these reforms will provide revenue necessary to help properly fund our schools, make smart infrastructure investments and reduce the tax burden being shifted to working families.
13. Do you support efforts to reform Arizona’s regulatory boards and commissions? | Yes
14. What is the greatest challenge facing Arizona today? | I believe Arizona’s inadequate education funding is the biggest issue facing our state. Many pre-k through post-secondary students are being denied a great education due to short-sighted cuts, including eliminating funding of community colleges which is hurting our economy and causing long-term issues for our state. Using my financial experience, I will work to restore fiscal responsibility to our state legislature so we properly fund public schools, improve teacher retention, and protect our students. This will help support businesses, encourage innovation, increase public safety, help working families, create good-paying jobs, and grow our economy. |
