Topics covered include: FERPA basics, student data, requirements for the protection of student records for public district and charter schools, addresses who may and may not access student records, when those records may be shared, and discusses several of the applicable exceptions to the FERPA requirement for consent as well as implications for social media.

In response to feedback from the Association and charter holders, the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools approved a series of changes to the Academic Intervention Schedule, including Performance Management Plans (PMP) and Demonstration of Sufficient Progress (DSP) evaluations at its regular meeting. Association Vice President of Academic Dr. Ildi Laczko-Kerr. Dr. Laczko-Kerr walked participants through the changes on Monday, Aug. 31, 2015.
