We’re excited to welcome you back to the Arizona State Capitol for our annual Advocacy Day on Monday, March 27!
Charters at the Capitol is an important day on our advocacy calendar, when hundreds of Arizona’s public charter school leaders, parents, and students come together to meet with their Legislators, showcase their schools, advocate on behalf of Arizona’s charter school movement, and discuss our policy agenda.
Some common FAQs are below. Do you have other questions? Email events@azcharters.org.
Where: Arizona State Capitol, 1700 W. Washington St., Phoenix, Arizona, Wesley Bolin Plaza. NOTE THIS IS ACROSS THE STREET FROM WHERE WE WERE IN 2022.
When: Monday, March 27, 11:00AM – 1:30PM. Schools can arrive to set up tables at 10:00AM.
Parking: There is very limited parking at Wesley Bolin Plaza. See the below map for some additional parking lots in the area. Free bus parking is available in the Executive Tower parking lot along 19th Avenue between Adams and Jefferson streets.
Who can Attend: Anyone and everyone! We would love to have students, staff, teachers, administrators, parents, and charter supporters. There is ample space on the lawn so the more the merrier.
What to Bring: The Arizona Charter Schools Association will be providing tables for schools and charter swag for the event. You’re welcome to bring any school materials, school swag, snacks, or fun spirit items to make the event a celebration. The entire area will be tented this year to keep us cool – no need to bring large pop up tents.
Lunch: Lunch will be provided. If you have any very specific dietary needs, please email info@azcharters.org.
Attire: We encourage everyone to wear school colors and celebratory clothing to make it a fun event! The event will be entirely outdoors though the main area around the tables will be tented.
We encourage everyone to take photos and videos during the event to share on social media with the hashtag #ChartersAtTheCapitol.
